CHRISTINE SCHIRTZINGER brings 23 years of competitive triathlon, running, swimming  and cycling experience and coaching to her athletes.   She is a MAF, USAT Level I, USAC Level II, USA Masters Swimming lvl II, Swim Speed Secrets and  TrainingPeaks Level II certified coach.  As a Registered Nurse, with 13 years of experience in Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Room experience, she also incorporates her knowledge of health and physiology into her coaching practice. 

Christine is the Director of Coaching at Tyme Wear. Tyme Wear provides athletes with lab quality physiologic insights that enable each athlete work to maximize their potential with each workout, each block of training and each season. Her roll at Tyme Wear is to integrate these scientific insights with her decade of coaching experience to provide the cutting edge training to athletes every day training.

Christine’s passion is sharing her knowledge to those new to the sport without the intimidation.  She is the founder of Girls Gone Tri, an organization dedicated to empowering woman through the sport of triathlon.   She is also co-founder of the Valley Velo cycling club.  V2 is the Fox Valley’s premier cycling club, a diverse group of road racers, triathletes, and century riders coming together do what they love, ride. 

Christine is always searching to learn, and to learn from the very best in each individual field.   For over 20 years, she has utilized heart rate as bio feedback and understanding how to monitor, analyse and improve performance following the works of Phil Maffetone.  She is recognized as one of the founding coaches of the MAF certification. She also is passionate about utilizing power on the bike and run.  Through the use of TrainingPeaks and WKO5 software, has learned and worked with many leaders in the field to bring the best to her athletes. Christine has been mentored by and has co-hosted clinics with Sheila Taormina.  Sheila's  methodology of teaching the freestyle stroke have been revolutionary to swimmers from novice to elite. 

Christine is also an Ironman athlete, racing age group elite.  She has qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships six times, and also has many other running podium finishes, BQ marathon finishes, and several age group and overall female wins. She is also a mother to four competitive young athletes.
